Morocco Wayfinder is an independent travel information project based in Casablanca. We publish destination guides, sample itineraries, and practical notes about transport and accommodation to help travelers compare options.
Our pages are editorial planning resources, not a certification of providers or a promise that every place, route, or service has been personally inspected. Schedules, prices, accommodation details, and local conditions can change; confirm them with the relevant provider or official source before you travel.

Answers to common practical questions. Check official sources for current rules, schedules, and prices.
What is the best time of year to visit Morocco?
Spring (mid-March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are ideal with pleasant temperatures. If visiting the Sahara Desert (Merzouga), travel between October and April (summer exceeds 45°C).
Is it easy to travel by train, or should I rent a car?
- Train (ONCF / Al Boraq): Best for northern cities (Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes). High-speed, reliable, air-conditioned.
- Rental Car: Essential south of Marrakech (Atlas Mountains, Merzouga dunes, Atlantic surf coast) where trains do not run. See our car rental guide.
Can I pay by credit card, or do I need cash in Dirhams (MAD)?
You will need physical cash daily. Souk vendors, taxis, and small restaurants only take MAD. We recommend withdrawing 1,500–2,500 MAD upon landing at bank ATMs (Attijariwafa, BMCE). Keep 20, 50, and 100 MAD notes.
Does it cost anything to ask Morocco Wayfinder a planning question on WhatsApp?
Sending a planning question is free, and you are not required to book through an affiliate link. Response times and the scope of assistance vary. Confirm current prices, schedules, and provider terms directly before booking.
